Summer & Christmas at IYLH

November and December at the hub are pretty much the craziest months for us! Summer arrives suddenly with hot afternoons and we begin dreaming of spending time with our families over the Christmas holidays.

That didn’t stop us from doing what we do best - enriching lives, having fun and learning.

We had many visitors come and see our facilities and our superstar children. One group helped us in our Christmas holiday club make our very own personalised tshirts! Soccer shirts were the most popular among the boys and the girls painted beautiful murals of their love for the Learning Hub and their teachers.

Holiday clubs are one of the most valuable things we offer at the learning hub. Not everyone can afford the time off work or the funds to travel to family, which leaves alot of children stuck at home with not alot to do for 6 weeks!

We created a super fun schedule for our children, balancing fun, sports, arts and crafts and of course - outings! The Hout Bay Sandcastle competition was a highlight for us, taking part in an annual event with our local community.

We had our very own Christmas party and each child received a delicious treat meal, a jumping castle and a completion certificate for the 2024 year.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank our team, our trustees, our supporters and our families for partnering with us in 2024 and wish you all a fantastic Christmas and a happy new year!
